Biogeochemical and Ecosystem Modelling

This field focuses on the relationships between the climate with the carbon cycle and the chemical, biological and physical processess.

Through the predictions made by models, the chemical / biological / physical changes in different ecosystem components and the effects of these components on humans are investigated.

Numerical models which are the major type of models studied are supported by thefield observations and remote sensing studies.

Through the models, research is carried out to understand the effects of past changes and make predictions on the effects of environmental and climatic changes on ecosystems in the future.

With this programme different research programmes are combined and the model results are shared with the decision makers.
